How We Collect and Handle Data
ExtractHelp builds datasets from public business information. This page explains what we collect, what we won't do, and how anyone can ask to be removed from a dataset we delivered.
What we collect
- Public business information: company names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, categories and reviews from public listings.
- Public professional details when a project needs them: name, job title, company and business email or phone.
- Product, price and listing data that websites publish openly.
What we won't do
- Log in to collect data, or get around paywalls, CAPTCHAs or other access controls.
- Collect sensitive data such as health information, financial account details, government IDs or children's data.
- Sell a dataset built for one client to anyone else.
- Take on projects meant for spam, harassment or fraud.
How we collect it
The same rules apply to every project, whatever the source.
- We review each source before work starts. If a source isn't suitable, we tell you and suggest an alternative.
- We keep request rates low so the websites we collect from aren't overloaded.
- A person checks every delivery before it reaches the client.
- Client files and requirements are shared only with the team working on the project, and we sign an NDA on request.
Personal data in B2B lists
Some B2B lists include people's work contact details. When they do, we collect only the fields the project needs.
Clients decide how they use the data and are responsible for following the rules that apply to their outreach, such as GDPR and UK GDPR in Europe, CAN-SPAM in the US and CASL in Canada. In practice that means having a legitimate reason to contact each person, including a clear opt-out in every message and honouring opt-outs promptly.
This page describes how we work. It isn't legal advice. If you're unsure which rules apply to your campaigns, ask a data-protection adviser.
Ask to be removed
If your details appear in a dataset we delivered and you'd like them removed, email info@extracthelp.com with "Data removal" in the subject line and the details you want removed.
We'll delete them from our working files and exclude them from future deliveries.
Questions about a specific project?
Tell us the source and the fields you need, and we'll confirm what we can collect before any work starts.
